Goodwood, Cars – Rolls-Royce Phantom seventh generation were present the first
time in 2003 after the company bought United Kingdom origin BMWhas decided to
stop being produced in November 2016.
In its official
statement, Tuesday (23/2/2016), Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes said,
this decision is related the development of space-frame chassis that will base
all Rolls-Royce models starting in 2018.
Not just a Phantom,
other models that use the same base, i.e. The Phantom Coupe,Phantom Drophead
also decided upon retirement. The development of both stopped,but as a farewell
Edition Rolls-Royce have prepared special edition Phantom Zenithwhich only made
50 units for hunted collector.
His retirement could
be due to rationalization of the Phantom Rolls-Royce. Becausethe consumer is
willing to create type coupé is already available and Wraith Ghost, while Dawn
of a recently launched body adopts the convertible.
Another version of
the Phantom with a long wheelbase, Phantom Limousine, also suffered the same
fate.
Phantom is
manufactured during the seventh generation for 13 years in the factory
ofRolls-Royce in Goodwood. His successor, the eighth generation, which uses a
